Virtual Art Talk by Mary Vahey
Roy Lichtenstein was an American Pop Artist. He rose to prominence in the 1960s with work inspired by popular advertising and the comic book style. Much of his work explores the relationship between fine art, advertising, and consumerism. He looked back to the artists he admired Cezanne, Mondrian, Picasso and Matisse and parodied the Abstract Expressionists. This will be a major exhibition at the Whitney in 2026. Adults only. Registration required to receive a Zoom link. Registration must include valid library card number.
