Award winning author Mark Di Ionno shares photos and experiences from his months in wartime Ukraine. Mark went to Poland during the first weeks of the war to assist the in the mass exodus of Ukrainian citizens fleeing Ukraine in the wake of Russia's attacks. He made three trips to Poland, traveling into Ukraine to deliver food and medical supplies to refugee centers. He returned to Ukraine in the summer, participating in delivering supplies and equipment to the military, several times in the shadow of the Russian border.
Mark Di Ionno is a noted author and a former longtime columnist at the Star Ledger and was a Pulitzer Prize finalist for his news coverage of Hurricane Sandy.
