Was he Saint Nicholas, Old Saint Nick, Kris Kringle, Sinter Klaas, or just “Santa Claus?” This lecture will begin with the story of the real Christian monk known later as Saint Nicholas. Then our discussion will progress with Christmas traditions through time that developed into our modern notion of that jolly, fat, red and white adorned fellow that just loves to make kids happy.
