"Pop Up" Fix It Shop!
Bring your broken or damaged items to the Library and work with one of our Fix It volunteers to make repairs. Our volunteers can repair:
Lighting/rewire lamps
Small appliances
Yard tools/power tools
Woodwork/furniture (small items please)
Stereos/amplifiers
Computers
Show you how your sewing machine & attachments work
Our volunteers will not repair any items containing a gasoline engine.
Additional Info:
ONE item per household please. If there is time, and all participants have had their items evaluated, our volunteers may be able to assist you with a second item.
- The Fix It Shop is free to patrons. If an item requires an expensive part, we may not be able to fix it at the Library - in that case, our volunteers will try to provide you with info about the repair cost and suggest where you can have your item repaired.
- The Fix It Shop will not be a drop-off site for repairs. Patrons should stay with their item while the volunteer works on it & hopefully gain some new knowledge! One of the purposes of this event is to foster interaction with members of your community!
- If you are interested in attending - please register & let us know what item you are bringing & what type of repair is needed. We would like to know how many people to expect & what tools /supplies will be needed. Stop by between 9:30 AM & Noon. There may be a wait so arrive early enough to make sure that you and your item can be seen. The Fix It Shop will close at noon.
You Must Identify Your Item & the Repair Needed in the box provided. You will be contacted to confirm your repair request and advised of additional materials needed.
