Art Talk by Mary Vahey
Join us as retired art professor, Mary Vahey, takes us on a virtual tour of Sixties Surreal, an exhibit at the Whitney from September 24 through January 19, 2026. Sixties Surreal is a scholarly reappraisal of American art from 1958 to 1972 that foregrounds the role of surrealism during a period of social and political upheaval. The range of works by over 100 artists include Diane Arbus, Lee Bontecou, Franklin Williams, Nancy Grossman, David Hammons, Yayoi Kusama, and Romare Bearden. Adults only. Registration required to receive a Zoom link for the program.
