Talk by Retired Army Colonel John Dwyer
John will present a live 90-minute program highlighting the role that US Army Medics played in the Battle for France in 1944. He wears the uniform and equipment carried by Army medics who treated the wounded and sick in combat. He tells stories about his life, his pay, his food, training, and clothing. He shows what he is carrying and explains his gear and his belongings in detail and passes it around the audience so people can see and feel the actual equipment used by medical personnel. He explains about the “Geneva Cross’ he wears, and the reason he carries no weapons. Questions are welcomed throughout the presentation. For John Dwyer, time will have stopped in the Winter of 1945 in Europe for this program. Adults only. Registration required
