Carol Simon Levin portrays Frances Perkins, America’s 1st female cabinet secretary.  She tells the story of the remarkable woman whose compassion, outrage, persistence, and political skills led to the most far-reaching and effective labor protection & safety net legislation ever enacted in the United States. Frances was instrumental in enacting workplace safety standards and the elimination of child labor, a forty hour workweek, social security for the elderly and disabled, unemployment insurance, and the minimum wage.
